Recently, I read "Bag Lady" a poem by Molara Wood, and I wished I had seen that poem while I was writing the essay "Democracy and The Lottery of Haunted Hours", I would have found a home for the last line in Bag Lady, the line that says, "If you must own nothing, own your regrets". It would seem that those that win the lottery of haunted hours own nothing but regrets.
"Democracy and The Lottery of Haunted Hours" has just been published in the Spring 2006 issue of MindFire. This special issue is titled "War, Peace, and Everything in Between." Why don't you hop across to Mindfire and read the piece. You can find the essay here.
